Hello again!
I know it's been a while but I'm back with a new type of blog post, it feels good to finally be able to add travel...
Now that I will begin my travels as normal as possible pre COVID I can't wait to share my experiences around the world. Starting with Mexico...
We started our trip in Cancun and we stayed in the Hotel Zone, a decision we would not live to regret. The hotel zone had everything we needed and was absolutely beautiful. Our Airbnb was beach front so had the beach on our doorsteps and we were able to catch the sunrise on mornings.
We also enjoyed the fact that along the Hotel Zone there were a tone of amazing restaurants you could choose from. We enjoyed dinner at Fred's but along that same road were other restaurants such as Taboo (Cancun), Porfirio's, Harry's Steakhouse, Cenacolo and more. Basically you won't run out of options food wise within the area.
As well as beautiful views and food, the hotel zone also offered us a great shopping experience, a short walking distance from our Air Bnb was Luxury Avenue Shopping Mall. There, you can find all the luxury shops from Hermes to Cartier, also a little further down are more shops such as Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co and Saint Laurent and a little further down from that was another shopping mall with shops like H&M, Sephora and so on.
While we were in Cancun we did also do some excursion things; we saw the Chichén Itzá (1 of the 7 wonders of the world), 1 of many Cenotes in Mexico and visiting other island such as Holbox. I would also highly recommend visiting Holbox if in Mexico, we took a ferry over to the island and it was beautiful. There are no cars allowed unless with special permission but it is mainly bikes and golf carts to get around.
Overall our time in Cancun was absolutely brilliant, we got to do a bit of everything. There was fancy restaurants to dine, The strip at night for clubs and also a great selection of shops to shop from.
Tulum
There will never be enough words to describe how amazing Tulum was, you would've seen a short insight into this if you follow me on instagram but pictures or videos will never do it enough justice. Tulum has a more relaxed and slow paced feel compared to Cancun.
Tulum has so many nice places to see, eat and do. My best advice would be to just wonder around and see where you end up. Don't get me wrong we had a few restaurant/nights planned but I really didn't want a fixed structure to my Tulum stay like we did in Cancun, I really just wanted to go with he flow, which I did. There is one main strip where you can find a lot of restaurants, bars and clubs around the Tulum Beach area. I could go on all day about Tulum and things to do but I've listed a few of my favourite places below.
